Jean had noticed that his team wasn’t as cohesive as he would have liked, and scheduled a meeting with them to participate in team building activities. When they were all together, he explained why he thought this session was necessary, and how it would help. He told them that a cohesive team will improve productivity and motivation, and having a better knowledge of each other would break down interpersonal barriers and develop a rapport. Carol, one of the shyer members, was hesitant at first to participate, but after participating in a few games and activities started feeling more confident in her contributions and in her team. Afterwards, everyone felt more like a team and less like a group of individuals.
